Elsie (the mother) always cooked excellent meals but then started eating frozen dinners when she didn’t have to cook for other people. Last year, she started shopping at the farmers’ market at work, which inspired her to subscribe to a CSA this year. When she’s not picking over apples and asparagus, she works for a major medical organization and likes to solve puzzles.
Laura (the daughter) is taking a break from just about everything to spend a summer on exciting projects like potty-training her child and conquering her fear of the basement. Her other big project is to cook from scratch all summer long and to convince her husband and son to eat it. She is not a vegetarian, but the other 2/3 of her household is, so that’s how she cooks. She needs to blog about it all to keep motivated.
Elsie and Laura subscribe to the Fresh Fork Market CSA and split a traditional share. So far, this arrangement is working out just fine.
